You may have noticed that today is Tuesday. That means I'm a day late posting our menu for the week. I'm rather behind in posting on all three of my blogs right now but hopefully I'll be back on track soon. I've been battling an asthma attack for almost two weeks now and it's taken its toll on my energy levels. I'm on Prednisone, though, so I should be on the mend soon. I have a real love/hate relationship with oral steroids. I hate the water retention and the insomnia but oh, how I love being able to breathe. ;) Anyway, here is our menu for the week:
Monday:
- Last night we went out to dinner. David has a new employee here in town for training so we took him out to eat. David had Chicken Carciofo (or something like that) and I had the baked ziti.
- turkey and homemade noodles
- rolls
- cooked apples for dessert
- tacos made with the fresh tortillas my aunt sent from California and some bison I have in the freezer
- lettuce, tomato, cheese, sour cream
- homemade chili made with the leftover bison from last night served over
- baked potatoes
- tossed green salad
- We are attending a New Year's Eve party at our favorite Italian restaurant here in town. They will have appetizers as well as having the pizza oven fired up until midnight. David has already reserved a room for us at a nearby hotel instead of driving home late at night on New Year's Eve.
- I figure we will all just be lying around watching football (the guys) and reading (me). I think I'll make up several snack-y type things and if I get inspired, perhaps a pot of gumbo and then we can all just snack and graze as the spirit moves. No, we won't be having ham and black-eyed peas. ;)
So how was your Christmas? Do you have any traditional foods you enjoy during the holidays?
